Do you know there are 212 Empires throughout the History. The Empire at the top is 

          The Great British Empire.

• All the areas were under the control of Britain. 
• The people under the control of British Empire were estimated about 45 crore and 80 lakh (458 million). 
• The most important fact is that is ruled on the areas of 5 continents including Asia(subcontinent), Africa, Europe, North America  and  Australia. 

  

             Rise of Empire

• The base of the British Empire was Ireland at 1541. 
• In 1707, Ireland united with Scotland and England. 
• And so the Empire spread to North America, Africa, Australia, Europe and Asia(subcontinent). 
• The main role in the expansion of this empire was played by the East India Company. The East India Company Started in 1600 in the era of Queen Elizabeth. 
• In the begining, the main objective of East India Company was trading with Mughal Empire. 
• Afterwards, in 1857, the Subcontinent was  under the control of British Empire after the war of Indepedence.

• In the era of Queen Victoria, the British Empire was on its peak.
• She ruled almost 54 years and died at January 22, 1901. 
• The successor of Queen Victoria was Edward VII. 

                Fall of  Empire

• Like its begining, its decline begin in Ireland. 
• Later, in 1947, Subcontinent also seceded from the British Empire. 
• Later on, it shrinked to UK(united kingdom).
